How Much Does a Custom Silk Scarf Cost?

The full price guide, with real numbers

A custom silk scarf costs between $35 and $155 per piece, depending on the size and the silk you choose. Production runs begin at 30 to 50 pieces depending on size, so a full order typically lands between $1,750 and $4,650. Every price includes the print, hand-rolled edges, and free worldwide shipping.

Those are our real production prices, the same grid published on our custom silk scarves page. Our family has been creating textiles for more than fifty years, and every scarf we make is crafted in Como, Italy, the silk capital of the world. Here is exactly what that money buys, and why it costs what it does.

The price grid, per piece

Prices are per scarf in US dollars. The minimum quantity is per design, and a dash means a combination we do not offer as standard. Working on something the table does not cover? Tell us about the project.

What every price includes

The per-piece price is the whole price. It covers the production of your design, edges rolled by hand, and free worldwide shipping by DHL. Customs and duties are covered for deliveries within Europe and the United States, and for other destinations we confirm the details with you before you order.

There is no design fee. You bring your own artwork, or we personalize one of our existing designs with your names, dates, and colors, and our design team reviews every file before anything is printed.

What a real order comes to

The easiest way to feel the numbers is to run them at the minimums.

Fifty pocket squares at 33 × 33 cm in organic silk twill come to $1,750. Fifty wedding favor scarves at 55 × 55 cm come to $2,000 in silk cotton, or $3,000 in organic silk twill. Forty large 90 × 90 cm scarves in organic silk twill come to $3,600. And thirty of our most luxurious piece, the 140 × 140 cm silk cashmere wrap, come to $4,650.

All of those are simply the published per-piece price multiplied by the minimum. Nothing gets added at checkout beyond gift packaging, if you choose it.

Why it costs what it does

Two things move the price: how much silk goes into each piece, and which silk it is. Silk cotton is the most accessible way into custom production. Organic silk twill is our signature cloth, with the soft structure and gentle sheen most clients picture when they think of a fine scarf. Crepe de Chine, satin, and chiffon each carry the design differently, and silk cashmere is the warmest and most indulgent of all.

The minimums exist because every run is set up for one design. Custom color mixing matched to your artwork, careful calibration of the presses, silk pre-treatment, and quality testing all happen before the first piece of your run is finished. That setup deserves a run long enough to justify it, and it is what makes piece one and piece fifty come out identical.

See it first: the $550 sample

Before you commit to a full run, we recommend a sample. It is a single, fully finished scarf, hand rolled and identical to what your production run will produce, and it is yours to keep. A sample is $550 for any size and fabric, takes three to four weeks including free shipping, and the full amount is credited to your production order. For a serious project it works as a deposit rather than a cost.

Gift packaging

Custom orders can be finished with gift packaging: a custom printed envelope at $4 per piece, an envelope with ribbon at $5.50, or a handmade box with silk paper at $11.45. Wedding and event clients usually choose the envelope, which was designed to be part of the gift itself.

A note on timing

From your approved final print file, production through to delivery takes five to six weeks. A sample adds three to four weeks before that. We suggest starting a few months ahead of your date, which leaves comfortable room for design, a sample, and our August closure, when Como takes its traditional summer break.

Common questions

Can I order just one custom scarf? Custom runs begin at the minimums in the table. For a single custom piece, start with a sample. For a finished piece you can order today, explore our ready to wear collection.

Is there a design fee? No. You provide your artwork, or we personalize one of our existing designs, and design review is included in the per-piece price.

Are shipping, customs, and duties included? Shipping is free worldwide on every custom order. Customs and duties are covered for Europe and the United States, and for other destinations we confirm the details with you first.

Do you offer discounts on larger quantities? Pricing is per piece as published. If your project goes beyond the table, whether in quantity, size, or fabric, tell us about it.

Why do custom scarves have minimums? Each run is set up for one design, with custom color mixing, press calibration, silk pre-treatment, and quality testing before the run begins. The minimum is what makes that level of care possible at these prices.
